In order to help OEMs meet MAC Directive requirements and ensure the development and sufficient provision of HFO-1234yf, Honeywell entered into a cooperative agreement with Dupont in 2010.
In October 2014, the European Commission sent a Statement of Objections to Honeywell and Dupont regarding this cooperation. In its statement, the Commission claimed that the agreement might have limited HFO-1234yf’s availability and technical development. Statement of Objections.
Honeywell holds the view that the Commission’s objections conflict with the European Union’s own laws encouraging collaboration on development. Honeywell is confident that our practices are consistent with the law and that the Commission will conclude that we acted in full compliance with European Union competition rules.
